As I enter my 17th year in middle school administration and my fifth year at The 鲍德温 School, I am more confident that an all-girls education, especially at the middle school level, is essential to our girls’ future. As you know, middle school is a crucial transition between lower school and upper school. Our middle school curriculum allows our 鲍德温 girls to build on their foundational skills and knowledge from elementary and lower schools and be more prepared for the in-depth coursework they will encounter in our upper school. We introduce our middle school girls to subjects like physics, 代数, 生物学, 文化人类学, 世界历史, classical and romance languages, 计算机科学, 平面艺术, 表演艺术, physical education and Inter-Ac athletics. We provide a supportive environment where girls can explore their interests, develop self-advocacy and leadership skills, and begin to identify potential academic and career goals. Middle school is more about experiences than expertise, and we ensure our girls have a variety of opportunities to experience fun, 团队建设, community service and learning beyond our 鲍德温 gates. 

We also understand that our girls manage other responsibilities and changes in and outside school. 结果是, we leverage our advisory program, deans and middle school counselors to offer guidance and assist our girls in building the interpersonal skills that will serve them throughout their lives. We have also partnered with The Social Institute to help our students and their families navigate the influences of technology and make positive decisions when using devices.
